Extract your mytime data from your iTunes backups<\/h1>\n

Here is some info about backups from apple’s website\u00a0http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/HT1766<\/a><\/p>\n

Here are some rules:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. never ever setup your phone as a new phone, ALWAYS restore from a backup (even if the apple store told you to).<\/li>\n
  2. always keep up to date with your email backups.<\/li>\n
  3. sync your iPhone\/iPad\/iPod Touch with iTunes regularly to keep a backup of your data.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <\/a>On OSX<\/h2>\n

    These instructions only work if you have not encrypted your backup data<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. download\u00a0http:\/\/supercrazyawesome.com\/downloads\/iPhone%20Backup%20Extractor.app.zip<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. extract and run the application<\/li>\n
    3. Select the “Read Backups” button<\/li>\n
    4. Pick your device<\/li>\n
    5. Then select com.yourcompany.MyTime?<\/a>\u2122<\/li>\n
    6. press “Extract” and save this to your desktop.<\/li>\n
    7. your backup file should be in ~\/Desktop\/com.yourcompany.MyTime?<\/a>\u2122\/Documents\/MyTime?<\/a>\u2122.sqlite (if you dont have this file and are running a very old version of mytime you might see a “records.plist” file)<\/li>\n
    8. run the\u00a0MyTime\u2122 Backup<\/a>\u00a0application and make sure that your iPhone is on the same wireless network as your Mac. (If you cant get this to work, email me your records.plist file)<\/li>\n
    9. on the iPhone, start MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 and go to More->Settings->Backup using ‘MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 Backup’<\/li>\n
    10. on the Mac in the MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 Backup program, select “Restore Backup” and then select the com.yourcompany.MyTime?<\/a>\u2122\/Documents\/records.plist file that was restored by the iPhone Backup Extractor application.<\/li>\n
    11. hit the home button on the iPhone to quit MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 and restart MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 to see your data<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      <\/a>On Windows<\/h2>\n

      These instructions only work if you have not encrypted your backup data<\/p>\n

      Please use iPhone Backup Extractor from\u00a0http:\/\/www.iphonebackupextractor.com\/<\/a>\u00a0for now since iPhoneRescue is not compatible with the new iTunes backup format<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. download\u00a0http:\/\/priddysoftware.com\/software\/iPhoneRescue\/iPhoneRescue%20Windows.zip<\/a>\u00a0fromhttp:\/\/priddysoftware.com\/software\/iPhoneRescue\/<\/a><\/li>\n
      2. extract and follow the instructions on\u00a0http:\/\/priddysoftware.com\/software\/iPhoneRescue\/<\/a>\u00a0as to how to run the application<\/li>\n
      3. Select your devices name in the first column, pay attention to the backup date<\/li>\n
      4. then select “MyTime?<\/a>\u2122” from the middle list<\/li>\n
      5. then select the “records.plist” file in the third column (if you are using MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 > 3.1.0 you are interested in getting the “MyTime?<\/a>\u2122.sqlite” file)<\/li>\n
      6. press “Save File” and save the file to your desktop<\/li>\n
      7. on the iPhone, start MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 and go to More->Settings->Start MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 Webserver<\/li>\n
      8. on your PC open a web browser following the onscreen instructions of MyTime?<\/a>\u2122<\/li>\n
      9. you should be viewing a webpage entitled “MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 Webserver”<\/li>\n
      10. in the “Backup\/Restore” section on the “Restore Backup File” line, press the “Browse” button and open that “records.plist” file that you saved on your desktop earlier.<\/li>\n
      11. now press the “Restore Backup” button<\/li>\n
      12. wait till you see the webpage refresh (should take 0-8 seconds)<\/li>\n
      13. hit the home button on the iPhone to quit MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 and restart MyTime?<\/a>\u2122 to see your data<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
